Biography

Mr. Gilberto S. Enriquez, Sr. was born on October 10, 1926 in Runge, Texas to the late Gilberto Enriquez and Teofila (Salazar) Enriquez. He passed away on April 24, 2012 in Karnes City, Texas at the age of 85. Mr. Enriquez was raised in Runge and married Mrs. Anita (Molina) Enriquez in 1947. He worked as a carpenter in the construction business. He is survived by his children Elsa Serenil, Velma Vasquez (Juan Vasquez, Jr.), Gilbert James Enriquez, Glenda Romo, Nelda Silva (Adam Silva), Louie Enriquez (Lupita Enriquez) and Eddie Enriquez (Yolanda Enriquez); 18 grandchildren; and by eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Anita Enriquez, and by two children, Lucy Molina and George Molina. Visitation will began on Thursday April 26, 2012 at Rhodes Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7 pm on Thursday. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday April 27, 2012 at 10:00 am with Father Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in the Karnes City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alfredo Vasquez, John David Enriquez, Gilbert Adam Silva, Eric Enriquez, Bryan Favors and Juan Vasquez, III. Honorary pallbearers will be James Molina, Christopher Molina, Roland Molina, Michael Enriquez and Trent Enriquez. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home.
